Pataleshwar
The Pataleshwar Cave Temple is a temple devoted to Lord Vishnu & Lord Shiva which is a rock-cut cave temple. It was carved out in the eighth century and was initially situated outside the town. The entire temple houses a linga; the symbol of Shiva and has two smaller cells on each side. In front of the cave is Nandi mandapam, its umbrella-shaped canopy which is supported by great square pillars. The Linga statue here is worshiped with butter and yogurt.
Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum
Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum holds the collection of art and documents related to Dr. Dinkar G. Kelkar in the memory of his son, Raja. The three-storey building has its sculptures that can date back to 14th century. The collection of these sculptures begun in 1920 and by the end of 1960, it had more than 15000 objects. The museum today has 20000 objects out of which only 2500 are kept on display. These are Indian articles from the day to day lives of the people in the eighteenth and the nineteenth century. The door frames, vessels, paintings and carvings represent examples of their native art.
